I think it’s safe to say that the culinary world would be much less exciting without onions. These bulbous vegetables come in all shapes, sizes, and colours with flavours from mild to pungent. One thing is true though, that all onions make just about any dish taste delicious. They’re often used as flavour enhancers, never really the star of the show.

This time around, we’re showing our appreciation for onions with recipes that put onions before any other ingredients! After all, they are one of the best natural antibiotics out there. Why wouldn’t you want more of them?

Show how much you love onions with these recipes!

1. Roasted Stuffed Onions

Forget about peppers or artichokes for a second. Try stuffing your favourite ingredients into a whole onion shell. Imagine an assortment of mushrooms… How aromatic and delicious.

2. French Onion Soup

In true French culinary fashion, a worthy French onion soup will take longer than most, but it will also be so worth it in the end.

3. Roasted Onion Bread Pudding

This might be a bread pudding, but it’s the flavours of onion that really shine through in this carb-loaded dish. It’s the perfect alternative to a boring loaf of bread.

4. Beer-Battered Onion Rings

If you haven’t tried cooking with beer, you’re definitely missing out. And who doesn’t love onion rings? Let’s be honest, they’re much better than fries, and they’re healthier—despite being deep-fried.
