At Brown Cow Farm, we don’t just produce yogurt, we craft it. Brown Cow yogurt is made in traditional small batches. As such, every batch receives the utmost attention of our skilled craftspeople. We adhere to proven recipes, using only the freshest, most wholesome ingredients and a meticulous ratio of just the right cultures to create a smooth, creamy, and “udderly” delicious yogurt!
For starters, we get our milk from family farms that have pledged not to treat their cows with artificial growth hormones (rBGH). Our Cream Top yogurt is made with the milk of brown Jersey cows. Nutritious Jersey milk is extra creamy with a high percentage of butterfat. It is also higher in protein, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and all the other minerals and vitamins. Our Cream Top yogurt also lends its unique flavor to the pure maple syrup we use to sweeten it.
In all of our yogurts, however, we use only natural ingredients, fresh wholesome milk and the finest fruits. All of our yogurts are either sweetened with maple syrup or naturally milled sugar. And we never use preservatives or refined sugar.
What many people may not realize is how important it is to maintain the correct ratio of live active cultures in a yogurt. At Brown Cow, our yogurts include S. thermophilus and L. bulgaricus (as all yogurts must have) plus L. acidophilus and Bifidus. Our special blend of these healthy cultures are not only extremely beneficial in digestion, they are vital to creating the much-coveted mild flavor and creamy texture of Brown Cow yogurt.
